Namaste,
Are you tired of wearing make-up (cover-up mask) to protect your fashion ego's reputation? On the streets, your credibility for hiding the minutest facial mark is untouchable but I wonder, for many years more will that credibility last? It has become safe to assume that you cover-up better than many politicians around. In as much as acne is destroying your pretty face, covering it up remains a costly faux pas. Sans doute, you have visited most of the acne treatment centers around town and eager to be the first to visit those that are yet to be establish. In the process, you have also become the client extraordinaire of many dermatologists in your city and we can all agree that it's time chill and relax before you cause irreparable damage to your face.
Acne is one of the major cause for teenage stress.
Acne affects both younger and older people alike, leaving us depressed
and frustrated. Nowadays we get loads of on the counter medicines and
lotions for acne and they are increasing day by day. Most of these
creams have side effects like skin peeling, discoloration, sensitivity
to sun, etc. We also can't use these products for a long time, as most
of them contain steroids.
To these questions and more, one of our members responded in the affirmative and sought for a natural alternative which would not hide the problem but treat it without any side effects. This got Monsieur Pk digging for answers and fortunately for her and all the other members, this is the discovery, as unbelievably true as it can be.
The fight against acne and acne scars: the natural way
Home remedies for acne scars are useful in cases of severe infection or when acne has been irritated, squeezed, or scratched. this intense skin condition afflicts millions of people across the globe with as many as 50 million in America. Mild acne scars heal on their own, while the deep scars might remain for a person’s entire life. Mild acne scars can be safely and effectively treated with home remedies using natural products.
Basically, acne refers to the blackheads, whiteheads, and short pink bumps called papules, which appear on the skin in the form of cysts as a result of prolonged contact with dust, polluted air, sweat, or dirty water. Acne usually occurs on the face, but areas like the legs, buttocks, shoulders, chest, and back are also not spared by this skin condition. According to the dermatologists at the Acne Research Institute in California, men and women can even experience acne at 25 or 35 years of age, sometimes even older, which many people don’t know since acne is typically associated with teenagers and pubescent individuals.
Acne is caused due to plugged pores and an outbreak of lesions, as reported by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Acne can be an embarrassing and unsightly condition to experience when you are a teenager and an adult, but once those hormonally-charged years are over, and you have reduced the chances of acne flare-ups or recurrences, the scars, spots, and after marks of acne can still cause a lot of self-esteem and confidence problems. That is why curing the condition of acne is not enough, the acne scars must also be taken care of before you can firmly put acne behind you!
Tomato Slices: Rubbing tomato slices on scars is also found to be effective in reducing the appearance of the marks or scars. This is partially due to the vitamin A and carotenes in tomatoes, which not only provide the red color, but are also antioxidant compounds that can heal damaged tissues and promote the healthy regrowth of cells.
Olive Oil: You should use olive oil for cooking since it not only makes food more appetizing, but can also lighten acne scars. Lightly massage olive oil onto the skin, and it will make the skin smooth again and reduce how noticeable the scars are. Olive oil is packed with natural antioxidants, which is why it is so frequently used around the world for a variety of healthy benefits, but in terms of clearing the skin of marks and scars, it is one of the best options for a home remedy.
Honey: Honey is a natural moisturizer, which is used in the treatment of acne scars. Eating honey and applying a honey mask on the face are found to be effective in acne scar treatment.
Dietary Solutions: Applying natural or herbal remedies to the affected areas of acne scars can be helpful, but it is not the only solution. Remember that other skin care issues are solved both internally and externally. Be sure to maintain a healthy, balanced diet that has a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals, particularly those that are renowned for boosting skin health, like vitamin A, and antioxidant rich food that reduces any further damage to your skin. Including fruits and vegetables in your daily diet to reduce acne scars is a good idea, considering they are healthy and delicious dietary items that are commonly associated with healthier skin.
Water: Water is probably best available natural method to treat acne scars. You should drink plenty of water, as it helps in flushing out the toxins from your body and revitalizing it. Water also assists in shedding dead skin cells and the formation of healthy skin. Drinking lukewarm water in the morning specifically helps in flushing out toxins.
Evening Primrose Oil: This is quite an exciting discovery for members of our group after a member pointed it out. Evening primrose oil contains a high concentration of a fatty acid called GLA and it is this fatty acid that is largely responsible for the remarkable healing properties of the plant. The gamma-linoleic acid, linoleic acid and other nutrients in this oil are essential for cell structure and improve the elasticity of the skin. These fatty acids also help to regulate hormones and improve nerve function aiding problems ranging from PMS to migraine headaches. Thus, by working to dilute sebum, a thick oily substance that is over secreted in some people with acne, the essential fatty acids in evening primrose oil may reduce the risk of pores becoming clogged and lesions developing.
Toothpaste: You can apply toothpaste on the acne to relieve swelling and pain every night for at least a week to experience a significant improvement.
Mint Juice: You can always apply mint juice on the face as it is highly natural and nutrient-rich substance that has been connected with anti-inflammation and a reduction in acne symptoms.
Lavender Oil: Application of Lavender oil on acne scars can revitalize the skin since it has many regenerative properties.
Vitamin E: Furthermore, coconut oil is a rich source of Vitamin E.
This keeps your skin healthy and ensures proper functioning of the
sebum glands and clears blockage. This means that it treats the actual
root cause of acne, not just the behaviors that lead to its appearance,
or the symptoms once they have occurred. Hormone regulating-substances,
as vitamin-E is in some ways, can reduce some of those natural hormonal
fluctuations that lead to the sebum gland becoming hyper-active.
Anti-Inflammatory: Coconut Oil is also soothing to the skin and highly penetrating, so when it is applied, it is absorbed quickly and immediately begins to reduce the inflammation from acne that is already present. Coconut oil also helps heal any sorts of open wounds on the skin from severe cases of acne. Above all, Coconut Oil improves the rate of metabolism. This also indirectly affects proper secretion and hormonal balance, thus curbing the chances of developing acne, and increasing the rate of healing and repair to skin cells damaged by this widespread condition.
As mentioned before, coconut oil can be either topically applied or consumed. Some experts recommend both internal and external use for maximum benefits, and only 2-5 tablespoons are needed each day to have an effect. It can be added to food, or even eaten straight, as it has a pleasant taste. Always choose Virgin Coconut Oil which is refined and of high quality.
In short, Results may vary from person to person depending upon their skin type, age, profession, lifestyle, eating habits, hygiene, and sanitary behavior.

Remedies to try at home
Ice: Really? Yes! Applying ice to the face helps to tighten pores
and to reduce secretions of acne causing sebum. Ice also works as a
natural astringent to tighten up pores around marks and scars, making
scarring less obvious, by decreasing the size of the pores that were
affected by the acne in the first place.

Tumeric: Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in the Orient as a beauty product and applying turmeric paste on the skin or ingesting turmeric is effective in the management of acne scars.Turmeric
paste is an amazing ingredient to use for acne & acne scars, as
they fight off the acne causing bacteria and has amazing health benefits
for skin and face. If the condition is mild, you can safely and
quickly treat it at home without leaving any scars on the skin. This
recipe is made with fresh turmeric paste, as I feel it is very effective
for treating acne. This recipe also has got tulsi leaves/holy basil
leaves. Turmeric
and tulsi are a magic combination for acne and treats acne very
quickly. Along with this mask, if you consume turmeric internally it
will give good relief very soon. I used fresh tulsi leaves, but you can
also use tulsi powder that you get in the markets instead of the fresh
tulsi leaves. To make the recipe, first make a turmeric paste by rubbing
turmeric on a coarse stone till you have enough paste. Take fresh tulsi
leaves and grind it into a fine paste using boiled water in a mortar
and pestle till you get a smooth paste. Add the turmeric paste to it and
mix well to a smooth paste. To use, apply a thin coating of this
mixture on the face, wait for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off.
Continue using it for few days regularly. Regular use of this paste also
reduces the scars left by acne. This paste can be refrigerated and used
for 2 to 3 days. Please don't be afraid of trying this mask thinking
that it will stain your skin, because once you wash your face with a
mild soap it completely goes away. If you are using powders, mix it
fresh everyday and make sure to buy good quality powders. This paste can
be used to treat acne anywhere on the skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar: It is a good toner that helps to

We cannot end this discussion without mentioning the positive impact of coconut oil on acne.
Fatty Acids: Coconut Oil is the source of two of the most powerful antimicrobial agents found in food. These two antimicrobial powerhouses are Capric Acid and Lauric Acid. They are the same acids that are found in breast milk
which keep newborn babies protected from infections. When these are
applied on the skin, some microbes (good ones) present on the skin
convert these acids into Monocaprin and Monolaurin, respectively. This
helps to replace the protective acid layer on the skin which is removed
through constant washing and wiping by frustrated teenagers. Basically,
without the microbial infection, acne cannot develop! Not only external
application, but also internal consumption of coconut oil will give you a
similar level of protection, but direct application is usually
suggested.
